How to use Invisipilot
Setup, shortcuts and fixes for the most common problems.
Desktop app — recommended for real interviews
- 1Install the desktop app
Download it for Windows 10/11 or macOS 14.2+ from the Desktop page and sign in (Google sign-in opens in your browser).
- 2Add your context
Create an interview profile on the website — role, company, resume and job description — so answers fit you.
- 3Start your interview
Join the call in Zoom, Meet, Teams or any app, then press Start interview. The app hears the interviewer through system audio, even with headphones.
- 4Read answers in the private overlay
Answers appear in an overlay only you can see — it is kept off your screen share on Windows and Mac.
Browser mode — practice or a second screen
- 1Open Live Session
Set company, position and language, then click Continue.
- 2Share the interview tab
Open the call in another tab, click Start session, pick that tab and tick “Also share tab audio”.
- 3Remember it's visible
Browser mode is a normal tab — it shows on any screen, window or tab share that includes it. Use it for practice or on a second computer.
Keyboard shortcuts
The same keys work in the desktop overlay (system-wide) and in browser mode (while its tab is focused). Change them under Shortcuts in the app.

FAQ & troubleshooting
It isn't hearing the interviewer — what do I check?
Desktop app: make sure the call's audio is playing on this computer (any output, headphones are fine) and that you pressed Start interview. On a Mac, grant the audio permission described below. Browser mode: share the interview TAB (not a window or the entire screen) and tick “Also share tab audio” — without it there is no sound to transcribe. Use Chrome or Edge. If sharing stopped, press Retry share.
macOS asks for permissions — which ones?
The first launch is blocked because the app isn't notarized yet: open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. Then allow Screen Recording when macOS asks (needed to capture coding questions), quit and reopen the app, and allow system audio when your first session starts (needed to hear the call).
Windows shows “Windows protected your PC” (SmartScreen).
SmartScreen warns about apps it hasn't seen often. Click More info, then Run anyway. Download only from invisipilot.com/desktop — the page lists the SHA-256 checksum of each file so you can verify it.
Is it visible when I share my screen?
The desktop app's overlay is kept off screen share on Windows and Mac. Browser mode is visible on any share that includes it. On Linux the overlay can't be hidden, so use browser mode on a second computer there. You are responsible for following the rules of your interview, employer or platform.
The answer is in the wrong language.
Pick the interview language before you start. Auto-detect works best for English and mixed Hindi/English.
I typed a question and got no answer.
Start listening first — typed questions are answered once a session is running.
